Breaking up with someone who you care deeply about is a hurting experience. No doubt you miss your ex but please realize that you may be able to get your ex back into your life. 1. Don’t be overbearing in trying to contact your ex. It’s ok to reach out to your ex periodically via a phone call but harassing your ex by calling and leaving messages will make you appear to be desperate and will only make matters worse.
2. You should send an email occasionally to check in with your ex and see how things are going. Again, don’t over do it and make yourself look clingy.
3. Be careful seeing others during your breakup. You will lesson your chances to get your ex back if you make it seem like you really didn’t want to be with your ex anymore. It’s ok to spend time with other people because it would be good for your ex to see that he/she is not the only one interested in you. However, keep relationships with new acquaintances out of the bedroom. You definitely won’t show your ex how bad you want them back by sleeping with someone else.
4. Don’t forget to reach out to your ex on holidays, birthdays, anniversaries etc. Although you are separated at the time you should still let him or her know you care enough about them to send a card, a message or better yet a phone call.
5. Try to understand what your ex is looking for. To get your ex back you need to know how to give them what’s been missing in your relationship. If your ex feels comfortable talking about it try to gently push to get to the root of the issue. It’s obvious that back when you started to date your ex saw something special about you.
6. Only talk positively to your ex and to others about how you broke-up. Don’t spend wasted time and energy talking negatively about your relationship because it ended. Word travels fast and no ex wants to come back to a person who has gossiped about them
7. Don’t throw your principles aside just to get your ex back. You may have certain beliefs that you should not compromise just to get your ex back. Your ex will think you are a phony if you all of a sudden no longer hold the beliefs you felt so strongly about during your relationship.
8. Stay healthy and happy during the break-up. This is one of the more difficult things to do because you are no doubt hurting. Depending on how and why your relationship ended you will go through a period where you may not eat, sleep, exercise or smile a lot. Life will suck but you don’t want to let yourself go. When you run into your ex you want to here these words ‘wow you look great”. You don’t want to hear, “are you ok because you look sick”?

I hope this advice gives you some ideas on how to get started getting your ex back into your life. It’s not easy but it’s very possible.

How do I mend a broken heart and maybe win back my ex at the same time? I hear questions like this a lot. You need to remember three key facts.

First, you need to fell good about yourself. Feeling this way, not only enhances your own mental well being, but it actually enhances the way your ex feels about you as well. So, how do you do this?

Get out of the house. No couch potato behavior for you. Be with your friends, Do things you like to do whether it is going to movies or shows, trips to the mall, a round of golf or a trip to the bowling alley. Keep up your physical appearance, your grooming and dress standards. Regardless of whatever else happens, you will feel better for simply making sure you stay active and involved, you have taken a big step towards mending a broken heart.

Second, at this point is do not contact your ex. You both need space. If winning your ex back is your goal, you need them to miss you. Staying away helps accomplish that, being clingy works against it. Staying away also gives you the time to reflect on just what went wrong and to seriously consider if you want the relationship rekindled. Again, staying away, and doing things that enhance your own well being will not only make you feel better, but will also make you more attractive to everybody else, your ex included.

Third, once your head is clear and you are feeling good about yourself, you can start to think about renewing contact with your ex. It is good to have a plan in place before you do this, one that shows you how to consider all of your possible options, and follows a cohesive strategy aimed at getting your ex back.
